My grandma, who adored 'beauty' throughout her life, always surrounded herself with beautiful kimonos handmade by Japanese craftsmen, and that brought her happiness and beauty.
Running her beauty salons in the middle of Tokyo for more than half a century, she devoted her life to being beautiful. One of her secrets of beauty was the daily skin treatment using parts of the delicately crafted kimono silk fabric.
My aunty inherited grandma’s love of beauty through wearing kimonos, which she passed down to me, while adding some sense of creativity and inner beauty. Grandma’s love of beauty has now crossed the oceans, as I’m sharing it with my children.
Over the years, grandma’s ‘secret of true beauty’ has been passed down and woven by each generation, in a similar way as the craftsmen been adding essential elements to the delicate kimono silk.
